Electric bikes have converted many people to cycling. From the first turn of the pedals,
it’s a revelation. Everything suddenly becomes so easy, especially hills !
WHY WE LOVE IT?
Electric bikes make any trip much easier. The bike is equipped with an engine for power, a battery for autonomy and a small screen on the handlebars that allows you to control the power.
There are generally 3 or 4 modes that vary according to model and manufacturer: economic/low, intermediate/medium, high, and Turbo. These offer assistance of between 50 and 200% in addition to your pedalling efforts.
& reassuring power
Pedal continuously. The electric assistance
functions only when you pedal
Andréa MIRABAIL TELLS US ABOUT HER FIRST ELECTRIC BIKE EXPERIENCE
« We arrived at the Trace Verte mountain bike school at around 9am. After a briefing on how the bikes work and some advice on to make the most of the trip, the group set out for the Altiport, one of the ideal riding areas in Méribel. We quickly gained height, taking regular breaks to admire the environment. On the steepest slopes, we switched on the "Turbo" mode and in a few minutes we reached the summit without getting out of breath. We had the chance to attempt some more technical and fun sections, a good way to learn how to handle our bikes better.
During the descent, everyone freewheeled at his own speed, the electric assistance no longer needed, and we appreciated the wide tires that cushioned the uneven terrain. We discovered view-points offering breath-taking scenery, almost without effort. By the end of this trip, we were all completely converted to electric biking and left with big grins and a desire to do it again.
Our experienced instructor infected us with his enthusiasm and gave us technical tips us throughout the ride. We also benefited from being with an expert who showed us some of Méribel’s secret places. »
