Méribel golf course

– Golf opening from June 15th to September 29th ⛳ –

A real high altitude pearl, the Méribel golf course is one of the most beautiful mountain golf courses in Europe! The first course in France to be set up above 1,500 metres, this golf course was created in 1966. This exceptional course, today composed of 18 holes, seduces professionals and amateurs alike.

An 18-hole golf course at altitude

A rich history of nearly 40 ans

The Méribel golf course was created in 1966 by Peter Lindsay, who was also the founder of the Méribel resort in 1938. This Scottish man, who loved the mountains and was a golf enthusiast, wanted to create a resort that was as attractive in winter as it was in summer. He designed a golf course that was initially composed of only 4 holes.

This course was then developed, built and improved over a period of almost forty years, successively by the greatest names in golfing architecture: Géry Watine, Thierry Sprecher and Hugues Lambert.

The Méribel golf course today

The Méribel golf course currently covers 35 hectares and offers 18 holes par 71, over a length of 5,538 metres. Each hole offers breathtaking panoramas, renewed and changing with the seasons. Built on hilly terrain, it is dotted with numerous natural and sporting features with demanding technical characteristics.

The Méribel course winds around the wooded slopes dominated by the “dent de Burgin”, the iconic mountain of the valley, along the Altiport from the Rhodos to Chantemouche, with a difference in altitude of more than 250 metres, i.e. from 1,565m to 1,850m in altitude

To learn or improve, the Méribel golf course offers a practice area consisting of:

  • 1,100 m2 of putting green;
  • a chipping green;
  • a driving range with 40 posts, 10 of which are covered;
  • a bunker.

It is thus, in the opinion of many golfers, amateurs and professionals alike, one of the most beautiful golf courses in the Alps.

A Savoyard golf course for all levels

Open from June to September (depending on weather conditions), this exceptional course caters for the needs of top golfers and offers an ideal setting for beginners. A licence is required on the course.

A golf course with demanding technical characteristics

The Méribel golf course, with its many natural features and hilly terrain, welcomes seasoned golfers and professionals every year. The driving range includes 10 covered and about thirty uncovered stations.

Every week, a competition is organized to rank the best golfers.
